Espresso Bay is a beautiful, quaint, and charming urban-style coffee shop nestled in the heart of downtown Traverse City. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the most fabulous baristas and welcomed with genuine warmth. The espresso was among the best I’ve ever tasted, and their new pumpkin latte was absolutely delightful—rich, smooth, and perfectly crafted. For any true coffee lover, Espresso Bay is a must-visit. The next time I’m back up North, you can be sure I’ll be stopping by again. Thank you for everything and for such a wonderful experience!

The slowest baristas in Michigan, without question, which is an unfortunate but correctable problem. Fortunately, the coffee is the redeemer. Not much of a vibe- the place looks cooler from outside than in- so lots of people mill around waiting for take-away. Baked goods were day-old (or more). Lots of unique flavor options- Cherry blossom latte. Nice merch and whole bean options.

Unfortunately they were a bit short staffed when we came in, it would be great to let customers know there will be a wait (more than 20 minutes for 3 drinks). The cold brew with cold foam over ice was great, as was the ice chocolate however the latte was just an entire cup of milk with no coffee at all. Unfortunately we were in a rush so couldn't take it back - reading other reviews after the fact suggests we should have steered clear of the espresso which is a real shame given they roast their own coffee.

I can't say enough good things about Espresso Bay. Yes, the coffee is excellent — we were served with genuine warmth right at closing time, when most places would be hustling you out the door. But what truly sets this shop apart is the character of the people who work there. I left my wallet behind during a visit, and manager Jenna Dent went out of her way to get it back to me. That kind of honesty and care for a customer — a stranger, really — is increasingly rare, and it meant the world to me. Jenna, you have no idea what a difference that made. If you're in Traverse City and need a great cup of coffee served by genuinely good people, Espresso Bay on Front Street is the place. They've earned a customer for life.
